Dr Dharman trained in Guys and St Thomas medical school and then spent a year in Accident and Emergency and Acute Medicine. He then trained as a GP on the UCLH GP VTS training scheme which included working as a paediatrician, psychiatrist, obstetrician and gynaecologist, and was amongst the first batch to complete the new MRCGP qualification in 2008. He has an interest in cardiovascular and respiratory physiology and during his time in medical school, intercalated a BSc in Physiology, which included a project looking at lung function in children who were premature at birth. He has subsequently done training in minor surgery, joint injections, substance misuse, respiratory disease (spirometry interpretation) and diabetes.
Dr Dharman has worked in many surgeries in London during his career from being a locum to working as a partner. He has been a board member of the North and West London Faculty of the Royal College of GPs for over 10 years and is the current Chairman. He is also now a Central College Council Member. He volunteers his time to the community as Vice Chair of Governors of a local primary school. Dr Dharman and other members of staff from The Avenue Surgery were recently interviewed by the Today Programme on BBC Radio 4 and this can be found on our site under “news”. Dr Dharman enjoys playing football, going to automotive shows and spending quality time with his wife and 4 children.
